With its 6 vintages, its 271 establishments, its 1300 distiller winemakers, its 5000 winegrowers and unique know-how, Cognac, internationally acclaimed nectar, is bursting with as yet unknown gems. The Through The Grapevine range was created with the aim of unearthing these rare pearls that are just asking to express their potential. A selection of casks and exclusive small batches of cognac, selected directly from passionate producers, each with their own know-how, pledge of quality and unique products.
The result of slow reduction, this Grande Champagne distilled in 1988 is a pillar of the Maison François Voyer blends and also plays an important role in the Extra cuvée. Bottled on its own for La Maison du Whisky, its noble expression, uncompromising and strong personality, pride in belonging to the finest terroir in Cognac and the freedom with which it reveals the breadth of its aromatic and gustatory palette are the highlights of an ambitious tasting that is nonetheless bafflingly simple.
Profile: the concentrated initial nose is floral (iris butter) and spicy. Allowed to breathe, it reveals lots of fruit (passion fruit, fig, melon), coriander and nutmeg. The lively yet creamy attack invites us to bite into juicy fruits, before liquorice stick and root ginger embellish the gustatory palette. The refreshing finish is empyreumatic (pine resin, plant sweets).
