Glenburgie Over 20 Years Old 1995 - Artist #9 700ml 54% ABV

Like Glentauchers and Miltonduff, Glenburgie’s history has always been closely linked to that of Ballantines, as its single malt is a key component in the famous blended scotch. In 2003, the distillery was completely rebuilt, and in 2005 it was bought by Pernod Ricard. Aged in a first fill sherry cask, this bottling reveals not only a sensation of maturity and fullness, but also lots of freshness and vivacity. This antagonism leads to a very natural palette of flavours and aromas whose main highlights are incredible charm, clear accessibility and amazing depth of field.

the deep initial nose is floral (reseda), fruity (orange) and jammy (marmalade). Allowed to breathe, it becomes spicy and then intensely malty and chocolatey. Candied mango brings lots of exoticism to the aromatic palette. The clean attack is honeyed (acacia), fruity (Mirabelle plum) and vanilla. The liquorice mid-palate develops with vanilla pod and aromatic plants (bay leaf). The well-balanced finish is a perfect summary of the nose and palate. Incredibly natural, it gradually becomes increasingly malty.
