Knockando may be difficult to pronounce, but it's very easy to drink. The name comes from Scottish Gaelic ‘cnoc an dhu’ or ‘little black hill’ which is a perfect description of the location of this beautiful distillery. Only 8% of their whisky is released as a single malt each year, the rest making up a large quantity of blends which is why it's such a treat to try. The 18 year old has been aged with Oloroso Sherry, adding some gorgeous rich fruit to this already fantastic whisky. The finish is long and there is a delicate nuttiness hiding amongst the black fruit and raisins. An excellent drop and great value for its age and rarity.
