Vincotto Originale 250ml Gianni Catagiun's family have produced "vincotto originale" from locally grown Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera grapes from Lizzanello Puglia since 1825. Don't confuse Vincotto with a Balsamic. It is instead an elixir, sweet and smooth with subtle and pleasant flavors with nuances of prunes, spices and heady grape components and it is not as woody as Balsamic. The Vincotto originale adds depth of flavour to cakes, meat and fish dishes, sauces and compliments cheeses, desserts and ice cream. Free from artificial additives No added sugar Product of Italy RICOTTA SALATA SALAD WITH GRAPE MUST 4-6 servings Salad: 5 cups mixed greens 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes 2 carrots, grated ½ red onion, thinly sliced 3/4 cup walnuts 1/4 cup sugar ½ pound sliced ricotta salata 3 Tbsp Vincotto Grape Must 2 Tbsp olive oil 1. Combine salad ingredients and add to a flat platter. 2. To make the walnuts, in a small saute pan or skillet over medium high heat, toss the walnuts with the sugar for 3 to 4 minutes or until the sugar melts and caramelizes. Watch that the nuts do not burn. Remove the walnuts from the pan and spread out onto a baking sheet, let cool and break apart any pieces that clump together. 3. Top the salad with the walnuts. Add the slices of ricotta salata. Drizzle on the grape must and olive oil.
