Jacques Cacheaux Bourgogne 2013 750ml 13% abv
Here we have a wonderful Burgundy from Jacques Cacheaux vines in the appellation of Vosne-Romanée. The family have about 7 Hectare’s of Pinot Noir planted and the winery is currently run by Patrice Cacheux. Moving towards a more biodynamic ethos and methodology in production Jacques Cacheaux is definitely one to jump on and watch.
Expect a fairly deep pinot with an elegant fruit profile of cherries and plums with spice like vanilla and staranise lingering. One that is ready now but would benefit from a little time in a decanter, or perfect to tuck away in the cellar for a few more years to come. Food pairings for this one are traditionally gamey birds so I wouldn’t look and further that a nice roasted duck. For those more vegetable inclined shitaki mushrooms or black truffles would be match made in heaven as well.
