Highland Park Distillery: A Unique and Award-Winning Whisky
Highland Park is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery located on the Orkney Islands, Scotland. It is the northernmost distillery in Scotland and one of the oldest, having been founded in 1798.
The distillery is known for its smoky and complex whiskies. The barley used to make Highland Park is heavily peated, which gives the whisky its distinctive flavor. The distillery also uses a variety of casks to age its whiskies, including ex-bourbon casks, ex-sherry casks, and even wine casks.
Highland Park has won numerous awards for its whiskies. In 2005, the distillery's 12-year-old whisky was named "World Whisky of the Year" by Whisky Magazine. Highland Park has also won numerous awards from the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC).
