Highlands

No single flavour profile carries across the Highlands. Clynelish can show waxy texture and coastal lift; Ben Nevis brings a weightier mix of fruit and mineral character; Glen Garioch sits closer to classic Highland malt, firmer and more cereal-led than either. Distillery character is the useful constant in a region this broad.

Sub-region matters as much as cask here: coastal Highland malts lean toward salt and brine, while inland releases often show more honey, spice and orchard fruit before any cask influence is added.

Set the Highlands beside other regions

The wider Scotch Whisky collection gives the full context. For a sharper comparison, set the Highlands against the fruit-led breadth of Speyside or the peat and coastal character found across Islay.
