Bottled as part of the new partnership between Casa de Vinos and Thompson Bros, this release totals to only 102 bottles. For the first in our three releases, we chose a Clynelish matured in a re-charred hogshead No. 313377. Held in especially high regard by whisky lovers around the world, Clynelish occupies a truly special place in the whisky enthusiast map with this release easily living up to those high expectations. 

Staff Tasting Notes

Nose: Bright orange, waxy honey, and quince paste. Fresh green apple skin and a strong mineral edge sit beneath notes of orange pulp and peach stone, all wrapped in a distinctly waxy profile. Distinct Peach Melba notes make themselves known after a while open. 

Palate: Fresh orange and apple skin lead into barley husk. The mid-palate turns mineral, with wet volcanic rock and a light saline touch. Waxy throughout, with subtle oak char, liquorice, fennel, honey, and mandarin pith.

Finish: Oily and mouth-coating. Orange blossom honey, marmalade, and candle wax linger alongside oak. Peach hard candy and pear drops emerge with time. Long and cohesive.

Overall: A deep and alluring whisky which hits beyond the marks expected of its age; an exceptional young Clynelish.
