About Maison Goudoulin

Maison Goudoulin is a well-known brand in the world of Armagnac. Established in 1935, the company has a long history of making high-quality spirits. Located in Courrensan, in the Gers region of France, Maison Goudoulin has earned a strong reputation for excellence.

One of the key strengths of the brand is its experience. With decades in the industry, Maison Goudoulin knows how to make top-notch Armagnac. They use a mix of old and new methods to make sure each bottle is of the highest quality. This blend of tradition and modern techniques sets them apart in the market.

But Maison Goudoulin is not just about the past. The company also looks to the future by offering a variety of products. Alongside their classic Armagnacs, they also produce unique spirits like Single Malt Whisky and Gin. This shows that they can adapt to meet the needs of today's customers.

The land where the grapes grow is another important factor. The special soil and weather in the Gers region help create the unique taste of their Armagnacs. The company uses local grapes and ages the spirits in French oak barrels. This adds extra layers of flavor to each bottle.

Quality is a top priority for Maison Goudoulin. Every step of the process, from picking the grapes to aging the spirit, is carefully managed. This ensures that each bottle meets the high standards the company is known for.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: old gold
Nose: fine, flowery. Very spicy (pepper, nutmeg), the first nose is also floral (buttercup, dandelion, lily). When aired, it becomes exotic (banana) and empyreumatic (beeswax). Then, the scents of Boulbènes sands which emanate from the aromatic palette highlight a notion of ancient terroir. Essential oils (rosemary, chamomile, savory) gradually cover the olfactory space.
Palate: fine, balanced. Very different from the nose, the attack on the palate is creamy (vanilla, coffee) and candied (lemon, pear). On the mid-palate, flavors of pistil, daisy and marigold echo the floral character of the aromatic palette. Then, more and more fruity (pineapple, plum, banana) and honey (acacia, lime), the aftertaste also highlights the quality of a perfectly integrated oak.
Overall: long, racy. Grated dark chocolate ginger, candied lemon in vanilla and salted butter caramel with hints of prune, the start of the finish is both delicate and peppery, almost spicy (Espelette). In retro-olfaction, notes of leather and incense highlight the beautiful chiaroscuro tones of the taste palette. The empty glass is powdery (cocoa), spicy (ginger) and floral (honeysuckle).
