Caroni

Caroni Distillery: A Unique and Beloved Rum Distillery

Caroni Distillery was a rum distillery in Trinidad & Tobago that operated from 1918 to 2002. The distillery was known for its high ester and heavy industrial style, which gave its rums a unique flavor profile. Caroni rums were also used in the blending of many popular rums, including Captain Morgan and Bacardi.

The Caroni Distillery closed in 2002 due to the decline of the sugar industry in Trinidad and Tobago. However, Caroni rums are still highly sought-after by rum enthusiasts, and they can command high prices on the secondary market.

In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in Caroni rums. This is due in part to the release of limited-edition bottlings from independent bottlers, as well as the growing popularity of high-ester rums. Caroni rums are now considered to be some of the most sought-after rums in the world, and they are sure to continue to be popular for many years to come
