Secret Islay 7 Years Old 2014 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml

This Secret Islay 7 year old was distilled in 2014 and aged in a refill sherry cask before bottling in 2021 at 50.7% abv with 343 bottles coming from the cask.    The distillery that adorns this bottle sits between Ardbeg and Laphroaig on the south coast of Islay, has been operating since 1816 and although a prolific bottler of its own single malt, independently bottled iterations are becoming less common from this Islay powerhouse.   Rich and meaty nose with notes of bacon and salty seaweed.  The palate brings sweet peat and notes of freshly shucked oysters and brine.  Lengthy finish with lots of big bold peat lingering for quite some time.
