The Dram

Nose: The aroma is vibrant and zesty, with notes of fresh kiwi fruit and tangy citrus zest. There's also a delightful hint of orange poppy seed cake, lending a touch of sweetness to the nose. As the scent lingers, a subtle hint of banana peel adds a tropical twist.

Palate: On the palate, the flavors of Granny Smith apples take center stage, offering a crisp and tart sensation that's both refreshing and invigorating. Alongside the apple notes, there's a rich undertone of Werther's Originals, providing a smooth and creamy caramel flavor that adds depth and complexity to the palate.

Finish: The finish is long and satisfying, with a luscious caramel note that lingers on the tongue, leaving a warm and indulgent sensation. As the flavors fade, there's a delicate hint of stone fruit, lending a touch of sweetness to balance the caramel. Finally, a subtle kick of ginger adds a hint of spice, completing the finish with a delightful twist.

The Distillery

Glenlossie Distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland, near the town of Elgin. It was founded in 1876 by John Duff, who had previously worked at several other distilleries in the area. Duff saw an opportunity to create a distillery that would produce high-quality single malt Scotch whisky using traditional methods and with a focus on innovation and experimentation.

Over the years, Glenlossie Distillery has undergone several changes in ownership and has been expanded and modernized to increase production capacity. In 1919, the distillery was acquired by Distillers Company Limited (DCL), which later became part of Diageo. Under Diageo's ownership, the distillery has become known for producing a range of single malt Scotch whiskies, including both peated and unpeated expressions.

Today, Glenlossie Distillery remains committed to producing high-quality single malt Scotch whisky using traditional methods. The distillery's whiskies are known for their balance, complexity, and distinct Speyside character, with notes of fruit, honey, and spice. Glenlossie's commitment to innovation and experimentation has led to the development of a range of unique expressions, including cask-strength whiskies and limited-edition releases. Despite its relatively small size, Glenlossie Distillery is highly regarded among whisky enthusiasts and has won numerous awards for its whiskies.
