Ichiros Malt Double Distilleries Japanese Pure Malt Whisky 700ml 46%

This is a blended malt from the Chichibu Distillery, built by Ichiro Akuto that combines whisky from his Grandfather, Isouji Akuto's, Hanyu Distillery that was built in 1941 and closed in 2000.  A rare and complex combination of Sherry matured Hanyu and Chicibu matured In Japanese oak. 


Nose: Sweet honey suckle, milk chocolate, figs and red apple. Rounded oak, and a note of vanilla and biscuits notes.

Palate: Sweet cinnamon, nutmeg and a little ginger, with warming honeyed malt that follows. Lingering oak that creates a silky but spicy mouthfeel.

Finish: Medium. Bittersweet notes of oak, mint, liquorice and ginger.
