Welcoming Thompson Bros. and Dornoch Distillery to Australia

We’re excited to share some big news with the Casa de Vinos community: we are now the official Australian importer of Thompson Bros., one of Scotland’s most exciting and respected independent whisky producers.

Founded by brothers Phil and Simon Thompson in the Highland town of Dornoch, Thompson Bros. have earned a global following for their uncompromising approach to Scotch whisky. Their philosophy is simple but rare - prioritising flavour, provenance, and transparency above all else. Small-batch releases, natural strength bottlings, and minimal intervention are at the core of everything they do, resulting in whiskies that are honest, characterful, and deeply expressive.

We’ve admired Thompson Bros. for many years. Their whiskies consistently stand out not because they chase trends, but because they respect tradition while remaining curious and forward-thinking. That approach aligns perfectly with how we think about spirits at Casa de Vinos. Thompson Bros. are one of the most exciting and authentic voices in modern Scotch whisky. Their commitment to transparency, flavour, and integrity mirrors our own philosophy, and we’re incredibly proud to be introducing their whiskies to Australia.

Beyond their bottlings, Phil and Simon are also the team behind Dornoch Distillery and the legendary Dornoch Castle Whisky Bar, widely regarded as one of the world’s great whisky destinations. Their influence on modern whisky culture extends well beyond the bottle. To mark the beginning of this partnership, we’ll be officially launching Thompson Bros. in March with a series of tastings, hosted by Casa de Vinos. We’re especially excited to confirm that Phil Thompson will be visiting Australia to lead these events, sharing the stories behind the whiskies and offering firsthand insight into the Thompson Bros. approach.  These tastings will be open to both trade and consumers and will offer an early introduction to the range ahead of its arrival on shelves. 

The first shipments of Thompson Bros. whiskies are expected to arrive in Australia in April, with availability through select retailers, on-premise venues, and directly through Casa de Vinos. Quantities will be limited, and allocations will reflect the small-scale nature of the releases.

As well as many of their famous releases like the mystery malt series that will be coming to Australia we are also proud to announce a series of three collaborative casks between Thompson Bros. and Casa de Vinos to mark the start of our relationship. These are available for pre-order now and can be posted out Australia wide or picked up in store from when they arrive in Australia in late April.
