Six years in active casks on the Yamagata coast goes a long way. Yuza’s 6 Years Old single malt is an early age statement from the distillery and a sign of how serious its long‑term plans are. The house style – clean, citrus‑driven and coastal – is still very much present, but now supported by deeper oak, caramel and spice.

The nose brings vanilla, toffee, citrus peel and soft tropical fruit. On the palate you get richer malt sweetness, honey, dried fruit and a firmer backbone of oak, with gentle pepper and clove. The finish is longer and more structured than the younger editions, without sacrificing the freshness that defines Yuza.

At Casa de Vinos Lounge we pour Yuza 6 Years Old in verticals with Spring in Japan and the standard editions so guests can chart the distillery’s development. It is also earmarked for age‑statement themed sessions at Whisky Abbey, where new Japanese age statements always generate discussion.
