Sullivans Cove Double Cask Single Malt Australian Whisky 700ml - 47.3%

Though known for their single casks, Sullivan's Cove also release a Double Cask bottling as a more approachable option. "Double Cask" refers to the use of two different types of cask used in the creation of this single malt, not just two individual casks. Overall, this is a solid introduction to the Sullivans Cove family of whiskies and blends the two types of barrels (American Oak & French Oak) beautifully. 

Nose: : Tropical & stone fruits, vanilla, caramel, spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, cardamom), lilac, daphne, honeycomb, butterscotch, hints of mint and chocolate.

Palate: Full, creamy, and waxy, with layers of sweet fruit, vanilla custard, toffee, and spice. Notes of baked goods (oatmeal cookies, pastry) and brandy-soaked fruit.

Finish: Long finish, with lingering spice, sweet confectionery, maple, and nutty praline, fading to a silky texture.

Sullivans Cove Distillery:

Founded in 1994 as the second (ever) whisky distillery on the island of Tasmania, Sullivans Cove have since established themselves as a pillar of Australian whisky distilling. Although established in 1994, distillation of the whisky for which Sullivans Cove is now known began in 1999 with the distillery’s transfer to Highland Holdings ownership. Then in 2004 ownership was transferred again to Tasmania Distillery until the company changed name to reflect their whisky, thereafter being known as Sullivans Cove Distillery Pty. Ltd..
