This collaborative single cask brings together one of Japan’s most sought-after distilleries and Melbourne’s most whisky-obsessed weekend. Selected for Whisky Abbey 2025, Cask #8236 is a peated Chichibu that proves how confidently the distillery handles smoke without losing its trademark fruit and energy.

On the nose you get citrus, sweet malt, campfire smoke and a little coastal edge. The palate is concentrated but never heavy: grilled citrus, stone fruit, vanilla and clean, rolling peat that feels more bonfire than iodine. The finish is long, with oak, smoke and malt all taking turns.

Most of this cask will be poured at Whisky Abbey, with a limited number of bottles available through Casa de Vinos and a small portion ring‑fenced for pours by the nip at Casa de Vinos Lounge.
