Christian Drouin 2003 Pommeau Itineraires 700ml

17.0% ABV, 700ml. France. Distillery: Christian Drouin. Series: Itineraires.

This Christian Drouin Pommeau de Normandie, bottled in 2025, is the result of a long and patient ageing journey rarely seen for the appellation. Produced by blending apple must* pressed in 2003 with a one-year-old Calvados, it was then matured for many years in oak casks beneath the slate roof of a traditional Norman timber-framed building. Subjected to significant natural temperature variations, the Pommeau slowly concentrated, developing remarkable depth and a distinctive rancio-driven aromatic profile, combining richness, oxidative complexity and elegant fruit sweetness.

*Must is freshly crushed fruit juice that contains the skins, seeds, and stems of the fruit.

Tasting Notes

Palate: Rich yet balanced, combining concentrated apple sweetness with rancio, toffee, roasted nuts and gentle spice, supported by a silky, vinous texture.

Finish: Long and warming, marked by dried apple, gentle oak tannins and lingering rancio complexity.
