This 2016 vintage Dalmunach from Watt Whisky was finished for 22 months in an Amontillado butt and bottled at six years old. The cask produced 456 bottles at 57.1% ABV, giving the young Speyside malt both strength and a firm sherry-style frame.

Expect rich dark fruit, strawberry yoghurt, nougat and black cherry, with the Amontillado finish adding depth and a drier edge. Dalmunach is a modern Speyside distillery, and this bottling works best as a younger whisky where the cask influence is clear but not smothering.
