Braeval 16 Years Old 2009 Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ml | 50.9%

High‑altitude stills above Chapeltown in Scotland; a crisp, grassy spirit built for elegance.

Nose: Huge plum honey with a green stem influence likely from the port barrel while still remaining crisp and elegant.

Palate: Thick with Port influence yet still remains dry, some tannin and more plum paste spread over a yeasty sourdough.

Finish: Dark chocolate with more plum and touches of current to round out the dry finish.

Overall: This was likely an older port barrel considering the dry nature of the whisky, however this was balanced well with the beautiful Braeval honeyed malt. Definitely a must try for lovers of Port maturation.
