Domaine d'Espérance's 17-year-old Petit Lot is an unusual composition: Folle Blanche and Baco drawn from three vintages, 2003, 2004 and 2005. The Bas-Armagnac blend was bottled at 46% ABV for Version Française Antipodes.

The estate lies in Mauvezin d'Armagnac and has been owned by Claire and Jean-Louis de Montesquiou since 1990. Twenty of its 50 hectares are planted to distillation grapes, including the two varieties used here.

Wax and toffee lead into mango, peach, citrus and honey. Clove, almond, fennel and roasted walnut add savoury detail, with prune, chocolate, cinnamon and mocha in the later stages.
