The Evolution of Blending, with Unique Ex-Shochu Casks

A limited release of Double Distillery, celebrating the Kanosuke's signature re-charred ex-shochu casks. Hioki's pot still whisky is specially matured in re-charred ex-shochu casks, as is usual for Kanosuke's single malt in this blend. Finished with a touch of rum cask matured whisky, offering mellow richness, layered depth, and a gentle note of Japanese spice. 

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Dried apricot, Plum jam, Canelé, Custard cream, Japanese cinnamon

Palate: Ripe pear, Grated apple, White peach, Raisin, Ginger, Crème brûlée

Finish: Salted caramel, Gentle aftertaste of lingering oak

Kanosuke Distillery

Founded in 2017, Kanosuke Distillery is already making waves in the world of whisky, with its innovative approach to production and maturation. The distillery itself is located in Kagoshima Prefecture on the southern Island Kyushu. Kanosuke also has a long history of distilling shochu in Japan, allowing them access to their very own shochu casks. Their combination of traditional whisky making techniques with the addition of ex-Shochu barrels for maturation create a unique whisky profile not found elsewhere.
