Thompson Bros Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 18 Years Old 700ml | 48.5%

Another tremendous release from the famed Thompson Bros, this 18 Year Old Highland is beautifully balanced with marvelous minerality and powerful peat, a true treat!

Nose: A beautiful peated spirit, gently aged for 18 years in refill wood – perfect! Charred hazelnuts, dusty peated malt/grist, Burnt sage, rosemary, oily fishing ropes, tar and creels. Crushed seashells and heather smoke. Touches of fruits – quince and apple peel.

Palate: At 48.5% it delivers! Very powerful with sharp citrus, heather honey, stewed apples, minerality – salt and wet slate. Some smoked ham, anchovies and capers in brine. Malty, salty and moreish.

Finish: Salty peanut brittle, the peat stays – and is powerful. Quite earthy and robust – with lingering cigar smoke.
