North of Scotland 49 Years Old 1972 Single Grain Scotch Whisky | 40.5% abv

Bottled to celebrate 15 years of The Nectar from the warehouses of Signatory Vintage.

A classic grain distillery active between 1957 and 1980, tasked with creating bulk grain whisky for blends. Although called Strathmore Distillery, they used the name North of Scotland for their whisky.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Dark chocolate, furniture dust and baked vanilla with sweet baked apples, cocoa and dusty cereal grain in the background.

Palate: Caramelised cereals on brioche with vanilla ice cream and toasted hazelnuts. Some caramel cream, floral honey and hints of custard.

Finish: Crushed almonds, cinnamon, clove and heather.
